Officials of Mahindra Defence Systems said the Rakshak was the best option for the state. But this particular vehicle can pick up speed apart from being bullet-proof.?
The tests proved that the vehicle to be bullet-proof. ?Rakshak can also withstand AK-47 shots. Grenades are not a problem either. It will be useful during the ambushes,? he added. But the vehicle has one drawback ? it is not effective against land mines, one of the main weapons used by rebels.
DIG, Provisions, M.V. Rao said, ?We have tested many vehicles of late. Rakshak seems to be good. But it?s ineffective against landmines. Still, we might consider using it. We will continue the testing process.?
