Ranchi, Feb. 7: The state government has failed to submit to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission a list of experts to expedite the appointment of university teachers, despite its deadline passing off today.
The commission, though, has decided to send reminders to the state government.
Commission chairperson Dilip Prasad said they plan to complete the screening process in the three state universities by March and hence need to form inter-view boards comprising subject experts recommended by the inter-university board.
Since Jharkhand does not have an inter-university board, its powers are vested in the director of higher education, who was asked to submit the list by today, he said. A copy of the request was also sent to the Raj Bhavan, he added.
Prasad further said the panel should include experts from outside the state since all interview boards should have two to three members including an external expert.
Besides 958 vacant posts for lecturers in Ranchi university, Sidho Kanho Murmu University, Dumka, and Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh, vacancies have opened up for 34 readers, 13 professors and 31 principals in the SKMU.
The other two universities have not given the number of vacancies of readers, professors and principals.
The existing vacancies of lecturers are only in the constituent colleges of the three state universities. Vacancies also exist in minority and affiliated colleges.
