Jamshedpur, July 14: The district unit of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a national level student’s organisation, organised a special felicitation function at the Michael John auditorium today.
The programme was held to honour the students who have scored well in this year’s board and plus two examinations.
About 200 students who secured the first two places in ICSE, CBSE and state board examinations were handed over certificates along with a portrait of Swami Vivekananda by the Ranchi University vice-chancellor S.S. Kushwaha, who was the chief guest at the function.
Organised for the third consecutive year the felicitation function was to motivate the students to perform well in their future endeavours.
Addressing the students on the occasion Kushwaha said hard work and dedication are the key to success. During his 30-minute speech he highlighted the role of a student and teacher in the current educational scenario.
Appealing the students to recognise their inner potential and take steps accordingly he said that in an attempt to provide job opportunities to the students Ranchi University has come out with a number of vocational courses.
