Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak takes a selfie with Rajinikanth at the superstar's Chennai home on Friday.
During their hour long "informal" meeting, the two discussed, among other things, Rajinikanth's film Kabali, a large part of which was shot in Malaysia.
"It was a goodwill visit and I had invited them (Razak and his family) to my house. I am thankful he accepted my invitation and joined me for tea," Rajinikanth told reporters.
The actor said Razak and his family were shown some clips from Kabali during Friday's meeting.
"Just had a very warm n friendly meeting with Mr Rajinikanth, the Tamil superstar, at his home," Razak tweeted.
Rajinikanth later denied any political undertones to a series of meetings planned by his fans next month, saying they were long due.
