Mumbai, March 17: Textile scion Abhishek Kasliwal, accused of raping a 52-year-old on Saturday, will be taken to Bangalore for brain-mapping and lie-detector tests.

The 26-year-old was produced before Bhoiwada metropolitan magistrate S.S. Suroshe this afternoon, who remanded him in further police custody till March 21.

The prosecution had moved an application seeking the court’s permission to subject Kasliwal to scientific tests.

The magistrate said the tests would help police in their investigations.

Kasliwal is likely to be taken to Bangalore tomorrow, police sources said.

According to the woman’s complaint, she was waiting at the Prince of Wales Museum at Colaba at 2.40 am on Saturday when Kasliwal offered her a lift in his Mercedes. He allegedly raped her repeatedly in the car.

Defence lawyer Shirish Gupte argued that her first information report indicated that it was a case of consensual sex and not rape.

Her second statement, which was recorded in-camera before another magistrate today, is reportedly different from what she had said in her FIR at Colaba police station.

Two more witnesses ? a woman and a man ? came forward today to accuse Kasliwal of sexual assault and doing drugs.

The police, however, refused to say if the fresh allegations would be probed. “We have recorded statements of several witnesses, but I would not like to identify any of the witnesses. I would neither confirm nor deny if these allegations are being investigated,” deputy commissioner of police Santosh Rastogi said.

“We have managed to contact relatives of the victim from Visakhapatnam and I can say that they are quite well-settled people. The victim’s individual past has been painful and she has been mentally disturbed after her husband’s death,” Rastogi added.

Kasliwal’s lawyer refused to comment on the new charges. “If at all they have investigated these, the police did not bring these up before the court,” Gupte said.

The police have also recorded the statements of Stephanie Jordan, a friend of the alleged rape victim, and two watchmen.
