London, Aug. 13: For Jasmin Walia, today must count as a triumph since Mailonline, which claims to be the "world's biggest newspaper website" with 45 million unique visitors, has published no fewer than 20 pictures of her in a bikini shoot.
"Peachy" is perhaps not an adjective one normally associates with Indian girls but the Daily Mail's website is positively rapturous about the 26-year-old's physical assets: "Busty Jasmin Walia flaunts her peachy posterior in TWO bright thong bikinis as she sizzles during beach shoot."
But just who is Jasmin Walia and why is she everywhere in the tabloids?
Some might say she is the archetypal "Asian babe" who turns up in increasingly daring outfits at film premieres, nightclubs and the like and out-Poonams Poonam Pandey of India any day of the week.
One newspaper declared Jasmin the "Sexiest Asian in the UK".
Her claim to fame is that she appeared in a TV soap opera called The Only Way is Essex -- Towie for short -- which is supposed to show "real people in modified situations, saying unscripted lines but in a structured way".
Jasmin started her Towie career in 2010 and got promoted to a full cast member in 2012. She left in 2015 after participating in eight series, but this was more than enough to win her cachet with the tabloids.
Her two-year relationship with TV personality Ross Worswick ended last year, apparently because she had applied to take a course in Bollywood in Mumbai without telling him. It doesn't seem she got in.
The ups and downs in the relationship were well covered in the tabloids, with lots of suitable pictures of PDA.
When the couple split up, a source told The Sun: "Ross and Jasmin have broken up. Ross is devastated. He changed his life for her and moved down south."
They had previously split in 2015 before reuniting soon after. At the time, Jasmin had told the Daily Star that Ross "is a nice guy but he wasn't very supportive of my career and my schedule".
She also has ambitions as a singer and has released a couple of singles, Temple and Girl Like Me. She did a number with another singer, Zack Knight, called Dum Dee Dum.
Jasmin revealed her ambitions in one interview: "Ideally I want to get into acting and singing, and possibly, I'm working on acting in Bollywood. I would love to do that. The transition to Hollywood, I'd love to make that. It's something I just really want to do."
With so many girls competing for the attention of the tabloids and the photographers, only those willing to dress in a sufficiently provocative way know they have a chance of making it. Jasmin seems to be the only Indian-origin girl who has succeeded.
"I've been trying to network, and events like the Asian Awards, it is a great event to network at," she said. "I'd love to be offered a small part. Even if it's just a small part that leads to a big part."
One-time Calcutta girl Pinky Lilani, who runs Asian Women of Achievement and Women of the Future -- two organisations aimed at promoting women by giving recognition to those who achieve outstanding successes -- told The Telegraph that Jasmin had been invited to present a prize two or three years ago.
"She was very warm and affectionate," Pinky recalled today. "She normally wears skimpy clothes but on this occasion she was well covered in a yellow sari. I really liked her. And because of her we got into MailOnline."
According to the report today, Jasmin "posed up a storm in two brightly coloured bikinis in Ibiza". The former reality star "showcased her enviable bikini body for a series of racy ocean-side snaps as she enjoyed a break in the party capital".
She opted for "both a blue and orange itsy-bitsy bikini. Making the most of her toned and tanned thighs, the baby blue bottoms sat high on her hips, the thong cut accentuating her pert behind."
Some of the writing verges on the lyrical: "Showing off the expanse of her washboard stomach, she teamed it with a triangle top, hugging her natural curves. And adding a touch of bling, the raven-haired beauty accessorised with a body chain, injecting a touch of colour with a bold red lip.
"Throwing a number of expert poses for the camera, she gave the photographer her best sultry stare as she worked her angles. The racy reality starlet then slipped into an almost identical orange two-piece, continuing her assault on the cameras in a nearby beach hut."
Readers are divided on Jasmin's talents.
"Shame when your only talent is looking good in a bikini, 10 years time it will be interesting to see what she is doing," was a sour comment.
Another offered the view: "Dark exotic girls have the best bodies, and age less quickly."
A third revealed: "I'm blowing these pictures up and putting them on the ceiling...."
A fourth speculated: "I don't think she would agree to an arranged marriage."
Maybe not but she has almost certainly agreed a handsome fee for getting into the bikinis -- and she probably gets to keep them too.
