New Delhi: A website has been launched to document violence linked to religious identity in the country.
The website, dotodatabase.com, stands for "Documentation of The Oppressed (Doto)" and will cover murders, assaults, sexual violence and hooliganism. The Quill Foundation, the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and several others are associated with the project.
Vipul Kumar, a researcher at the Quill Foundation , said that since May 2014, as many as 489 incidents that affected 2,670 victims had been recorded on the basis of English media reports.
" Later, we plan to include hate speech and institutional violence," he told The Telegraph. Users will be able to report incidents by filling up a 24-point questionnaire.
