For the first time, Kolkata will play host to Long Night of Literatures, a literary evening that will let you interact closely with accomplished European writers from at least 10 different European countries. To be held at Goethe Institut and Alliance Française du Bengale, the event offers an intimate experience for bibliophiles to interact with writers and their works. An author reads from their work for a small audience for about 20 minutes and the audience is then free to move to a different room, a different reading, and a different work of literature.

This is the first year of the festival being held in Kolkata and the literary delegation features names like German author Julia von Lucadou, who wrote The High-rise Diver, a work of speculative fiction, and Clarence Boulay, the French novelist of the riveting love story Tristan, award-winning Slovenian journalist and playwright Boštjan Videmšek
