Madhabi Mukherjee and Rituparna Sengupta

The two Charulatas — Madhabi Mukherjee from Satyajit Ray’s Charulata and Rituparna Sengupta from the March 2 release Charulata 2011 — came together to chat about their common link at HHI on V-Day. “After the closed-door premiere of Charulata, Satyajitbabu told me the film was nice but he wasn’t sure if it would run for long at the theatres,” reminisced Madhabi.

The two-hour-long programme featured a fashion show with Agnimitra Paul’s creations, followed by a dance performance by TV stars Riju-Manali and Biswanath-Debleena. Rituparna took the stage for the Bolly hit Teri meri prem kahani.
