Tough cop: Mumtaz Sorcar has bagged the role of a hard-as-nails cop in Joydeep Ghosh’s debut film Sesh Onker Khela. “I’m really excited about the fight sequences in the film! Judo Ramu will direct them; he is a hard taskmaster. And I have never played a cop before,” said Mumtaz. Sesh Onker Khela is a thriller spiked with a murder mystery.

Three for laughter: Paoli Dam, Saswata Chatterjee and Parambrata Chattopadhyay are having a ball shooting for Sudeshna Roy-Abhijit Guha’s dark comedy Hercules at Bharat Lakshmi Studio. “It’s more play than work for us!” laughed Paoli, who plays shop-owner Minu. Saswata plays para mastaan Mosh. “Apuda’s (Saswata) look is hilarious. Mosh is in love with Minu!” said Paoli. Parambrata plays the meek Haru, who later morphs into the strong and confident Hercules. All in the family: Acting runs in his blood, and that’s why he couldn’t wait to finish school before signing up his first film. Sean Banerjee, Supriya Chowdhury’s grandson, plays an aspiring actor in Ranadeep Sarkar’s 19 Shey April. “I’m really embarrassed to say that I’m just in Class XII in Apeejay School, Park Street! But I decided to be an actor when I was in Class X,” said Sean. His grandmother too is a part of the cast “but we don’t share screen space, though it is Dida who has inspired me,” he added.

Mystery of the missing woman: Locket Chatterjee is a jatra star, Mumtaz Sorcar is a filmstar and Arunima is a starlet who goes missing. Bappaditya Bandopadhyay’s Nayika Sangbad is about the dark and mysterious tinsel world. “Everyone interprets the missing actress in their own way.
