B’DAY BOY: “I’ve had a hectic day today,” Prosenjit told t2 after cutting three birthday cakes on Wednesday evening. The day began with a visit to an NGO in Baruipur and then a residence in north Calcutta where a telefilm shoot for his production house Nideas was underway. His fan club members had also turned up to meet their Bumbada. “Every year I shoot on my birthday; this year has been an exception. But I had a very busy day.... On my birthday, I miss my mother the most. She would cook a lot of my favourite dishes and payesh was a must.” His birthday resolution? “I will definitely wear the director’s hat for a Hindi film next year.” We are waiting Bumbada! KUDOS FOR KADAMBARI: Suman Ghosh’s Kadambari has hit a purple patch in the US. The film starring Konkona Sensharma as Kadambari and and Parambrata Chattopadhyay as Rabindranath was named the Best Feature Film at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival. Konkona bagged the Best Actress award. “I am not surprised to see Konkona getting the award. I was pretty confident. The Best Film was a pleasant surprise since there were a lot of very good films in competition at the festival,” said Suman. Kadambari had also been screened at Rashtrapati Bhavan, for the President.
