The Last of Us

HBO Max has unveiled the official trailer of a live-action adaptation of Naughty Dog’s action-adventure game The Last of Us, headlined by The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal and Game of Thrones star Bella Ramsey. The series is written by Craig Mazin, who previously wrote Chernobyl.

The trailer takes fans down memory lane as it traces the franchise’s first outing. It also establishes the reluctant relationship between Joel and Ellie and also brings the world of the video game to life.

The Last of Us will premiere on HBO Max on January 15, 2023.

Veekam

The official trailer of the upcoming Malayalam-language mystery thriller film Veekam was released by the makers on Sunday. Written and directed by Sagar and produced by Sheelu Abraham and Abraham Mathew, the film features Dhyan Sreenivasan, Sheelu Abraham and Jagadish.

The trailer gives us glimpses of a gruesome murder in an apartment building in Kochi. A cop (played by Sheelu) is leading the investigation. We also get a glimpse of what might have transpired on that fateful night. Two young men and a young woman’s characters become the subject of the main mystery in this clip.

Veekam will arrive in cinemas on December 9.

The Witcher: Blood Origin

Netflix’s upcoming fantasy miniseries The Witcher: Blood Origin’s trailer is now out. Adapted from The Witcher book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, the show is created by Declan de Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. It stars Michelle Yeoh, Sophia Brown, Laurence O'Fuarain, Lenny Henry and Mirren Mack in prominent roles.

In the trailer, we see a tale lost to history — the creation of the first prototype Witcher and the events that led to the pivotal Conjunction of the Spheres, when the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged to become one. Taking place in the elven Golden Era, 1200 years before the time of The Witcher: Blood Origin tells the story of seven strangers who join together to fight an unstoppable empire.

The Witcher: Blood Origin will be streaming on Netflix from December 25.

The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House

Netflix on Sunday shared the official trailer of its upcoming Japanese period drama series The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House. It is based on the manga Maiko-san Chi No Makanai-san by Aiko Koyama. Created by Hirokazu Kore-eda and produced by Genki Kawamura, the series stars Nana Mori and Natsuki Deguchi in lead roles.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of the show that is set in the geisha district of Kyoto. The series follows an apprentice geisha and a cook at the maiko house. It tells a story of their daily lives through delicious food. The show promises to present a vibrant canvas of traditional Japanese cuisine.

The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House will arrive on Netflix on January 12, 2023.
