The play: Two sets of parents meet after their kids fight in school. The attempt for a truce falls flat as the parents start fighting way more than the kids! Stars Shernaz Patel, Anuradha Menon, Sohrab Ardeshir and Zafar Karachiwala.

What: Advertising Club Calcutta presents Desi Digital, in association with The Telegraph

Where: Calcutta Media Institute (CMI), 501 Elgin Chambers, fifth floor, 1 Ashutosh Mukherjee Road

When: 11am onwards

Expect: A masterclass by Samrat Mukherjee, founder and CEO of Crow’s Nest, on Indian brands going digital. This will be followed by a chat on ‘ROI on Digital: Reality or Myth?’. The speakers are Mohit Kampani, former managing director of Spencer’s Retail; Kanchan Datta, founder and CEO of Inner Circle Advertising; Surojit Sen, associate VP and client services director-digital, JWT, Calcutta; Sagar Daryani, co-founder and CEO of Wow! Momo; and Samrat Mukherjee.


DEBATE

What: Calcutta-Dhaka Tarka Bitarka, presented by Calcutta Debating Circle, in association with Anandabazar Patrika, with The Telegraph as the media partner

Where: Lake Club

When: 7pm onwards

Expect: Five Bengalis from Dhaka will share the stage with five Bengalis from Calcutta to debate the topic: Bangali du bhaag tai durbal (Bengalis are divided, hence weak).

For the motion: Alapan Bandyopadhyay, principal secretary, department of transport; Abhirup Sarkar, economist; Zayadul Ahsan Pintu, journalist; Shabnam Azim, professor at Dhaka University; and film-and-theatre personality Suman Mukhopadhyay.

Against the motion: Md Jahangir, cultural activist and media specialist from Bangladesh; Arifa Rahman Ruma, professor in Bangladesh Open University; Enamur Rahman, Bangladesh Awami League MP; Rithabhari Chakraborty, actress; and Anindya Chatterjee, musician and director.


FOOD

What: Chatpata Chaat Festival, in association with t2

Expect: A dozen stalls serving up a spicy fare of popular Calcutta street food — Mutton Ghugni, Doi Phuchka, Raj Kachori Chaat, Aloo Tikia — along with healthy snacks like Multigrain Bhel and Oat-based Papri Chaat!
