Did you know that not just green but black tea too has more antioxidants than fruits? Or that the most expensive tea ever sold in the world is from Makaibari tea estate? The two-month-long TE-A-ME Festival of Flavours at Mocha, that kick-started with an adda over tea and more on March 20, threw up some interesting nuggets on our favourite sip.

“TE-A-ME, with its range of 17 variants of tea, caters to each and every mood of an individual. We want to showcase this versatility of teas in the way it impacts, transforms and uplifts our mood. The variety — from warm tea to iced tea with an assortment of apt starters — is definitely a treat Calcuttans can look forward to at the advent of summer,” said Sumit Shah, executive director, Madhu Jayanti International, the house that owns TE-A-ME, the exclusive brand that will be served during the festival.

The adda saw musicians Neel Adhikari and Tanya Sen join in for some songs and tea talk. “We introduced this menu as an addition to the elaborate one that we already have. TE-A-Me has some fantastic flavours and our chef has added some extra zing to it. We also have some food recommendations to pair with the tea,” said Shashank Arora,
co-owner, Mocha.
