Stars shine bright on South Point reunion stage

Pride of Pointers. The South Point Ex-Students Association (ASPEXS) added a fresh chapter to its annual reunion this year. Rendezvous 2017, in association with The Telegraph, saw former students who have made a mark in their professional career being felicitated at Swabhumi on January 14 . “We are starting with cinema since the medium touches everyone’s lives. Subsequently, we will move on to other fields,” said Krishna Damani, the president of the association.

It was a constellation of stars that twinkled on stage: Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Arghyakamal Mitra, Saswata Chatterjee, Srijit Mukherji, Arijit Guha, Arvind Sinha, Atanu Ghosh (award collected by a batchmate), Bauddhayan Mukherji, Bedabrata Pain, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta, Nandana Sen, Papiya Adhikari, Subrata Sen, Pratim D. Gupta and Ribhu Dasgupta (award accepted by father Raja Dasgupta, also a filmmaker). Rituparno Ghosh was awarded posthumously.

The felicitation over, it was time to catch up, click, dance and dine. And chant the Pointer slogan: “Soda lemon ginger pop, South Point on the top”.
