Veteran actress Shabana Azmi has heaped praise on Abhishek Bachchan for his acting in Shoojit Sircar’s latest film I Want To Talk, calling it “undoubtedly his career best” performance.

Sharing a still of Abhishek’s character Arjun Sen and his on-screen daughter Reya, played by Ahilya Bamroo, from the film, the 74-year-old actress wrote, “#Abhishek Bachchan’s performance in #Shoojit Sircar’s #I Want To Talk is undoubtedly his career best. Sincere and deeply felt he gives himself to the character completely . And it is quite amazing to find him letting go of an actor’s inherent vanity. Shabaash 👏👏👏👏👏.”

I Want To Talk revolves around Abhishek Bachchan’s chronically ill character, Arjun, who seeks to make amends as he faces the final chapter of his life. His daughter, played by Ahilya, supports him after his unexpected medical diagnosis leads him to undergo various surgeries.

The film hit the screens worldwide on November 22 and also stars Pearle Dey, Johnny Lever, Jayant Kripalani and Kristin Goddard. While Avik Mukhopadhyay has served as the cinematographer, Taba Chake is in charge of its soundtrack.

Last year, Abhishek was seen in the sports drama Ghoomer alongside Saiyami Kher. He will be next seen as the antagonist in Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming film King, which reportedly stars Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana together for the first time. The actor also has Remo D’Souza’s Be Happy and Housefull 5 in the pipeline.

Shabana, on the other hand, was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani alongside Dharmendra, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. She will next star in Faraz Arif Ansari’s Bun Tikki alongside Zeenat Aman and Abhay Deol. The film, which is produced by Manish Malhotra, will mark Zeenat’s return to acting and her reunion with Shabana after the 1982 crime drama Ashanti.
