What should you do when an eight-time salsa world champion comes visiting your city? Obviously catch up with him, watch his moves and pick up some cool tips to show off on the dance floor! Get ready for such a rendezvous as salsa maestro Oliver Pineda flies down to Calcutta this weekend for bootcamps and a performance.

What: Peddro’s Salsateca hosts Oliver Pineda as part of his Rhythms Season I tour, co-presented by John Anthony, the organiser of India International Dance Congress, Bangalore, and Goa International Latin Festival 
When: March 5 and 6
Bootcamp 1: For beginners, improvers and intermediate. On Saturday (2pm-5pm) and Sunday (11am-2pm).
Learn: Basic technique, musicality, body isolation, timing and fundamentals of salsa.
Bootcamp 2: For intermediate and advanced students and trainers. On Saturday (5pm-8pm) and Sunday (2pm-5pm) 
Learn: Body isolation, turn patterns, timing, advance shines and musicality.
Bootcamp venue: Sculpture Court, ICCR, 9A Ho Chi Minh Sarani 
Special performance on March 5: At Salsa Social with Oliver Pineda, plus live Latin grooves by Monojit Datta at Henry’s Lounge & Bar, Hotel Park Prime, 9pm onwards.
