Prosenjit and Mimi Chakraborty dropped by at the city launch of international skincare brand Eminence at Solace on October 12. The Sunny Park wellness address offers three kinds of treatments with Eminence — the Anti-ageing Berries Ritual (Rs 4,000 for a session) with various kinds of berries and paprika to stimulate blood circulation and flush out toxins, the Stone Crop Brightening Peel Ritual (Rs 3,600 per session) for hyperpigmentation and skin brightening, and Bright Eyes Ritual (Rs 1,000 as a stand-alone treatment or Rs 750 if clubbed with any spa service) for under-eye problems, from dark circles to puffiness.

“Eminence is liked by people around the world and it is our privilege to bring it to Calcutta, even though it has been around in the country for the past 11 years. The USP of the line is that it is completely organic and handmade and they don’t use paraben, alcohol or chemicals. You can actually eat the products, with the plants, herbs and fruits just captured in the jar! Honey is used as a natural preservative. There are over 200 products in the line and we have a remedy for any kind of skin problem,” said Vandana Sundra, master franchisee, Eminence Organic Skin Care, India.

ALL THINGS WELLNESS WITH PROSENJIT...
What did you like about the Eminence treatments?
I’ve been doing a lot of things over the years but this feels different. The facial that I did was good, you could see a freshness. You can feel the difference almost immediately. I also loved how they have an under-eye range because it is a sensitive place that is prone to puffiness and dark circles.... Everybody should take care of their skin and health, irrespective of whether you are a man or woman or an actor.
What does your skincare routine consist of?
I love coconut oil and natural remedies. I still believe in jol-e-tel-e. I get a facial done at least twice or thrice a month, especially after I’m back from an outdoor shoot. I always try to be updated with the latest trends in fitness and wellness, doesn’t matter if I follow them or not! (Laughs)
One natural remedy you swear by?
Definitely coconut oil. I not only apply it on my skin but I also have a spoon of it regularly with my black coffee. I drink about six to seven litres of water every day. I have bottles of water kept in six different places in my house, corners I visit. So wherever I go, I have my water. By breakfast, I’m usually done with two litres. And also with sleep, in the past, I would get only two hours of sleep for a long period of time, but now I make it a point to sleep seven to eight hours.
What’s fitness like for you?
It’s not about gyms, it’s about habit. Trainers do not have a magic stick in their hand. They can guide you or motivate you, but the drive has to come from within. If you step out of the gym and eat a lot of phuchka, then what’s the point? You have to be conscious.... Solace is like home to me, they’re like family. Under one roof you have a gym, a pool and a spa and this is what I like the most about Solace.
... AND MIMI

How was your Eminence facial?
It was refreshing and because I have sensitive skin, I don’t use any chemicals on my face, so it really helped me. It is completely natural, chemical-free and made with fruit extracts, it really suited my skin. Otherwise, I can only apply aloe vera gel. I’m going for another one very soon.
What’s your workout at Solace like?
I like doing yoga and Solace has helped me because my trainer really motivates me. I’m lazy and the first month was hectic but after that I got used to it. When you see the changes in your body, you want to keep at it. Solace is nice because even if you don’t want to work out, you can take a swim, or a spa. It takes care of all your wellness needs.
What’s your skincare routine like?
I cleanse my face thoroughly because I have super-sensitive skin. I cannot moisturise my face too much at night because I have breakouts in the morning. I apply cold water and rub ice, then I tone it with rose water. For moisturising, I use aloe vera gel. That’s it.
Is there a natural remedy you’ve picked up from your mother?
My mother swears by a mixture of lemon and honey for that instant glow and besan and tomato juice work really well as a body scrub. For me, it works wonders.
What are the five things you always carry in your bag?
A hydrating spray from Clinique which instantly makes me feel fresh whenever I feel drained out, an SPF-45 sunscreen, lip balm, mascara and a cheek tint.
And you cannot do without a...
Lip balm. I cannot leave home without one. I have four to five lip balms in all my bags.
What lipshade are you loving at the moment?
My favourite lip colour has always been ones with notes of pink. Even my reds have a hint of pink, like Relentless Red from M.A.C. This season I’m looking forward to muted browns that would suit my skin tone. Like I love M.A.C’s Mehr and Smashbox has a bunch of warm tones that are nice. Every year when I go to the US, I stock up on make-up, from lipsticks to skincare products.
A make-up trend you’re crushing on right now...
I like the trend of using mascara, a lot of mascara because I really like the nude look. Mascara can highlight your eyes and make a difference. A hint of mascara, some cream blush-on, no kohl and I’m ready to go. I am also a huge fan of gel nails. I’ve been doing them for the past five years. They’re so convenient, I don’t have to change my polish and the headache of chipped nails is not there. They’re a saviour!
And a make-up trend you don’t like?
I don’t like contouring because it makes the face look cakey.
A skincare tip you would like to share with your fans...
Clean your face well before you sleep at night and drink lots and lots of fluid and have curd. Just eating well can do wonders for your skin.
