It’s a good year for newcomers. Hiran, who’s tasting box-office success with Bhalobasha Bhalobasha, and Rahul, riding high on Chirodini... Tumi Je Aamar, have bagged one more plum project — Jackpot.
The film will be produced by Shree Venkatesh Films and directed by Kaushik Ganguly. The leading ladies are Koel Mullick and Tapas Pal’s daughter Sohini. Jackpot will be Sohini’s second film after AnjanDutt’s Bow Barracks Forever.

All set to start shooting from next Friday, Kaushik says his film will be a “romantic travelogue”.
“Though a love story, Jackpot will be very different. We have got rid of the cliches that we usually associate with love stories. I am trying to redefine love. It’s also a fun film,” says Kaushik.
Of the four, Dodo (Rahul) and Mithu (Sohini) are in a relationship while Arko (Hiran) and Piu (Koel) hit it off after a chance meeting. “There’s a game show, and Arko and Dodo take part in it. They are very good friends. But the film doesn’t revolve around the game show. It’s just the backdrop to a love story,” clarifies Kaushik.

Koel, the veteran of the lot, is excited about playing Piu. “It’s a very different film for me. Piu is a motormouth. She is very carefree. She runs away from home and meets Arko on the way. They strike up a conversation and then cupid strikes. The two even spend a night together...,” says Koel.
