Following their debut at the Sundance Film Festival last month with the coming-of-age movie Girls Will Be Girls, Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal’s production house Pushing Buttons Studios has announced a lineup of five new films including a documentary and an adult animation.

“We are driven by a passion for storytelling and a commitment to bring fresh, diverse narratives to the forefront. The success of ‘Girls Will Be Girls’ at Sundance has fueled our determination to continue pushing creative boundaries,” Richa said in a statement, expressing her enthusiasm for the upcoming projects.

Ali added, “Pushing Buttons Studios is not just a production house; it's a platform for artists to collaborate, experiment, and create memorable experiences for audiences. We are excited about the diverse range of projects in our pipeline.”

Helmed by Shuchi Talati, Girls Will Be Girls bagged the Audience Award for World Cinema Dramatic Competition at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. The film’s lead actor Preeti Panigrahi won the World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for Acting at the festival. Girls Will Be Girls is a joint production of Pushing Buttons Studios, Crawling Angels, Blink Digital, and Dolce Vita Films.

The upcoming projects of the production house include an adult animated project, a comedy, a satire, a documentary and a fantasy drama film.

Here is the complete details of the line up announced:

Directed by Akash Bhatia, Papita is a crime thriller which revolves around Porus Bisht, a Mumbai paparazzi photographer with a knack for voyeurism who aspires to transcend his profession and become a respected photographer. His story takes a turn when he captures a pivotal moment involving a renowned celebrity, altering both his career and life.

Doggie Stylez

Doggie Stylez is an adult animation film by Ashutosh Pathak, which is a tongue-in-cheek satire on modern humans, told through the lens of a society of dogs imitating human values and failing. Ultimately, the question arises about how they can succeed when even humans can’t.

Pinky Promise

In a small hillock-town of Himachal Pradesh, Pinky, a spirited dancer and Goldie, a talented singer from a rival Bhajan-Mandli, find themselves entangled in forbidden love. Despite their feuding families, they defy expectations and embark on a musical journey, creating a modern-day Romeo and Juliet tale with a heartwarming and happily-ever-after twist. Written by Amitosh Nagpal, Pinky Promise is a musical comedy.

A documentary directed by Rahul Singh Datta, RiAlity is centred around Ali and Richa, two characters named after the Bollywood couple, who cling to each other in the whirlwind of wedding planning, demanding jobs and tricky relationships.

Miss Palmoliv All Night Cabaret

In this fantasy drama directed by Kamal Swaroop, a revolutionary celibate dacoit, Bhavani Singh, and a cabaret dancer, Miss Palmolive, embark on a platonic musical journey through the fantastical world of Cinemata, where the government discovers that only a kiss can defeat Bhavani.
