Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama is introduced as a hero, protector and a legend in the new teaser of Ramayana, dropped by the makers on Thursday.
The two-minute-38-second-long video opens with a title card that reads, “Whenever the world descends into chaos, he is the answer,” establishing Ram as the ultimate protector.
The subsequent scenes capture key moments from Rama’s journey— from his coronation and exile to his battle with Ravana.
The clip offers a fresh retelling of the epic, describing Rama as a timeless symbol of duty, sacrifice and righteousness, whose choices were always guided by the greater good.
“Rama is the greatest of all time because he lived a life where the choices he made were always in the benefit of the greater good, duty over desire, and sacrifice over self. His legacy continues to enhance and empower humanity over time and bring the belief in the goodness of the human spirit to resolve all conflict and bring peace to the world,” reads the post on X.
Ramayana will be released in two installments, with the first part hitting screens on Diwali this year and the second part slated for a release on Diwali 2027.
The script for Ramayana is written by Namit Malhotra in collaboration with Shridhar Raghavan. The film is directed by Nitesh Tiwari, known for his films Dangal and Chhichhore.
Ramayana also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, KGF star Yash as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
Oscar winning-composers Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman have scored the music for the upcoming film. Pankaj Kumar has served as the film’s cinematographer.
