After the mammoth Endhiran, get ready for Rana. That’s the next Rajinikanth film where there will be not one, not two, but three Rajinis in one movie!
Mumbai’s Eros International and Ocher Studios, Chennai have joined hands to co-produce Rana, to be directed by K.S. Ravikumar who has in the past directed two Rajinikanth blockbusters in Muthu and Padayappa.
To be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, Rana’s music would be done by A.R. Rahman, shot by Ratnavelu, and edited by Antony. Charles Darby, who has worked on films like Matrix and Harry Potter, will be the visual effects superviser.
Endhiran had grossed more than Rs 400 crore worldwide and the producers of Rana expect the new Rajini project to be even bigger at the box office.
“We hope to make a film that will live up to the huge expectations of the moviegoers and reach out to maximum audiences across the globe,” said Soundarya Rajinikanth (younger daughter of Rajini), director of Ocher Studios. Sunil Lulla, MD of Eros International, added: “Rana is going to be different from any of the recent Rajini films, a complete live action magnum opus with loads of entertainment for his fans.”
Rana is scheduled to release in financial year 2012.
