Prince Narula

I wanted to scream out loud when my name was announced,” were Prince Narula’s first words to t2. The 24-year-old Chandigarh boy who went into Roadies X2 “with no expectations”, nosed ahead of Gurmeet Singh to win the extreme reality show aired on MTV. After wowing India with his strength on Roadies, Prince is now geared up to sweep women off their feet with his “cute side” in the latest season of Splitsvilla.

How did you feel when host Bani announced your name as the winner of Roadies X2?

It was a dream-come-true moment. It’s a great feeling to fulfil a dream. I remember when I had come to Roadies X2, I had told Rannvijay (Singha) Sir that I wanted to win. I won it for Rannvijay Sir.  I went mad with happiness. Wherever my parents go, people praise me. My family wants me to pursue my dream and they have always supported me.

This season was different from the earlier editions in terms of format and feel. What was the journey like?

It was awesome! It was an exhilarating experience to stay with the mentors (Rannvijay, Karan Kundra, Vijender Singh and Esha Deol). They had become like family. All the contestants had also become like a big family. We were competitors only on the field. We exchanged ideas and learnt a lot from each other.

What was your proudest moment on the show?

Once our gang had lost a task and so one member had to go to another team. Rannvijay Sir had the power to save one person from his gang and he saved me. That moment was brilliant because he trusted me. It was an emotional moment (smiles).

Wasn’t it an advantage to be a member of Rannvijay’s team since he has an experience of 11 years with the show?

Yes, that was an advantage. It helped us. He would tell us the ways to do well in the tasks. He used to groom us like a brother and not just like a mentor. He knows how far one can go. I owe my success to him.
After I won, Rannvijay Sir told me that when he had selected me in the auditions, he knew that I would make it to the finale because of my pagalpanti! He lifted me in his arms after the win. I also partied with all the contestants and mentors in Mumbai!

In the final task, you were pitted against your buddy Gurmeet...

It’s a great feeling because I won against a tough competitor like Gurmeet... he’s like my brother. I value relationships. I gave him my bike (that he won on the show) out of respect. We have always supported and inspired each other. We had always told each other that we won’t compete till the finale. We had decided that we would mutually give each other such competition that people would get floored by our sportsman spirit. We did it!

Is the decision to be on Splitsvilla a bid to change your tough-guy image?

I am very excited about Splitsvilla. I have an image that I am strong. Now I want to show the world that I am versatile. Now people will see my cute side, though I will be tough for the boys!

Splitsvilla is all about mind games and gossip, twists and turns. What’s your strategy?

I am good at tasks. Jo main hoon seedha rakhunga. Main sach aur sahi bolunga. That’s it.

Aren’t you going to the show to find love?

I can’t say whether I will find love or not. If I get a nice girl.... toh main single hoon, shayad girlfriend bana kar wapas aaoon! (Laughs)

The theme of Splitsvilla 8 is: ‘what women love’. What do you think women really love?

Women want guys to be honest and loyal. Guys shouldn’t lie.

Has your Roadies mentor Rannvijay given you a pep talk for Splitsvilla?

He told me: ‘Bhai, this is not Roadies! Yahan jaan nahin chahiye, yahan dimaag chahiye!’ He advised me to be myself.

Having shot a couple of episodes, how’s Sunny Leone as a host?

Sunny is a sweetheart. She is the sweetest girl in the world. She talks to everybody very nicely. She is hot!

QUICK SIX

FITNESS FACTS: I have been working out for the past six years. I was a bodybuilder. I spend around four hours in the gym every day. Fitness is very important. Besides looking good, it helps to boost confidence and improve one’s personality.

DIET DO: I am a Punjabi, so ghar mein Mom ke parathe khata hoon, but I only stick to chicken and eggs. I don’t eat anything else.

INSTA FREAK: I have got 29,000 followers on Instagram (@princenarula) in only one-and-a-half months. Now people are following me and getting inspired. They want to know what I eat, where I go and how I spend my day, so I try to upload images for my fans to build a direct connection with them. If someone gets inspired and takes part in Roadies, that will be an achievement.

STYLEBHAI: Punjab mein toh sab hi stylish hain! I love experimenting with my hairstyle and trying out funky clothes. That apart, I keep things real.

F FOR FANS: I am loving it! We had recently gone to a shopping mall in Delhi. In 10 minutes, there were almost 250 girls around me. One of the girls literally jumped from an auto just to meet me!

IDOL: I want to become an action hero like Akshay Kumar. I dream to work with him in a film one day. I love doing stunts so I would like to participate in Khatron Ke Khiladi after Splitsvilla.
