Vijay Raaz and Deepak Dobriyal will share screen space for the first time.

The comic duo will be seen together in Kaalakaandi, a dark comedy written and directed by Akshat Varma.

The two of a kind have successfully made their mark in their cinematic journey and are considered the most-dynamic actors in the industry. One of the three stories in Kaalakaandi revolves around Deepak and Vijay’s characters and their desire to get rich. Their story is compelling and effortlessly brings to life the underbelly of Mumbai, which they represent in the film.

Director Akshat Varma said: “In Kaalakaandi there are three different stories with each having a different rhythm to it. For Deepak and Vijay with their theatre background, they come in ready to go. With every take they gave their best. Their performance is like firing cylinders, the more you work with them the spontaneous they get.”

According to Saif Ali Khan, Deepak and Vijay are the Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino of Bollywood.

“It is one of the best movies I’ve been in. Deepak and Vijay are like Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino. I have never
seen such great acting in any of the films I’ve been part of. I just want to thank them for the experience,” Saif said.
It will be quite a treat to see the two talented actors perform together.

Produced by Cinestaan Film Company and Ashi Dua Sara of Flying Unicorn, the film stars Saif, along with an eclectic ensemble of Deepak, Vijay, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Shivam Patil, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalam.

Kaalakaandi releases on January 12.
