With gel nail extensions being the in thing with women, there is another outlet offering nail spa and care — Nails by Rang Roop, on Mayfair Road. Now this one is a one-stop destination for all your nail needs — pedicure, manicure, spa, gel nails, extensions, refilling and nail art. “I noticed that every second woman in Delhi was flaunting a gel nail extension while here in Calcutta women are yet to buy this idea. We thought why not come up with a place where we can provide the best of service,” said Kiran Nihalani, owner.
Taking care of gel nails:
- There are three nail shapes one can go for: oval, square, soft square
- Apply Vaseline over your nails when you go swimming
- Do not bite your nails if you have got extensions
- Do not try to remove the extensions on your own, go to the nearest nail spa and see an expert technician
- Avoid acetone removers
- Visit your nail technician every 20-25 days for a refilling and a manicure

“I love these nail extensions — I like them long and blingy. They are just like natural nails and super comfortable. All you need to do is take care of them the way you would have taken care of your natural nails,” said Preeti Bahrus, a make-up artist who dropped in for nailcare.

Shumonto, one of the technicians working on a nail extension, said: “All you need to do is go to professionals every two or three weeks and get them refilled. Apply cuticle oil on a regular basis. You can use your fingers to eat or to wash clothes — there will be no damage to the nails. You just need to ensure that they are not subjected to harsh detergents
for long.”
