The makers of the Rani Mukerji-starrer Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway released the song Maa Ke Dil Se on International Women’s Day today to celebrate the bond between a mother and her child.

Composed by Amit Trivedi and penned by Kausar Munir, the heartwarming song, released following the success of their first song Shubho Shubho, has been rendered by Javed Ali. The video shows Rani’s transformation from a pregnant woman to a full-time mother. Depicting her despair and pain when her kid is taken away by the Norwegian authorities, the song also shows her resolve to get her child back through the legal process.

“The first time I heard the song, I was extremely moved by the words penned by Kausar, I could only think of my mother and my child, as well as of my journey from being a daughter to becoming a mother,” said Rani Mukherji in a statement.

“It is truly special that this song is releasing on Women’s Day. My life as a woman changed completely after I became a mother. I would like to dedicate this song to my mother who has made several sacrifices for me over the years. Motherhood is a glorious life force and an act of infinite positivity,” she added.

Elaborating more on the song and how it was crafted, the Mardaani actress said she thought it was one of the best collaborations between Kausar and Amit. “When one hears the song, it tugs at the heartstrings. Javed Ali and Dipakshi Kalita have sung the song with so much depth and emotion. The song seamlessly fits in with the narrative of the story and adds a lot of richness to the screenplay.”

Directed by Ashima Chibber, Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway is slated to arrive in cinemas on March 17.
