Television actor Joyjit Banerjee is the winner of Bigg Boss Bangla Season 2 on Colors Bangla. Beating a bunch of participants like singer Shilajit and actresses Rii and Priya, Joyjit played the survival game for three months, keeping a cool and composed demeanour amidst volatile situations inside the house. t2 chatted with him over phone just after the win.

Congratulations Joyjit on winning Bigg Boss Bangla Season 2...

Thank you! But like everyone else, especially my Bigg Boss house inmates, I’m very surprised! I didn’t expect to win, believe me. I had expected to last not more than a month in the house. But I’m thankful to the audience for loving me and voting for me every week.

Well yes we believe you because inside the house you were mostly caught napping! That was a huge complaint from the girls in the house....

(Laughs) Yes, I love taking power naps. In the house the boy gang was accused of having a lobby. But we (Shilajit, Apurbo, Sandy) were a very positive group. We would sing, laugh, have fun... and yes, ghumie ghumieo jeta jay!

There were huge brawls inside the house. But you seldom picked a fight with anyone. How did you maintain your sanity?

I would go to sleep! (Laughs) I don’t believe in using expletives so I would go to sleep.

Which was your most memorable moment inside the Bigg Boss house?

Inside the house I first came to know that no Tollywood production house wants to work with me and I live on my wife’s earnings! (His co-inmates Rii, Priya and Preeti accused him of this during a fight.)

A moment inside the house you will always cherish?

When my son (Jashojeet) visited me. That moment is something I will celebrate for ever.

What’s the first thing you will do when you land in Calcutta (the participants were in a house in Lonavala for three months)?

I will hug my wife (Shreya) and spend time with my son. Also take blessings from Ma and Baba.

What do you intend to do with the prize money (Rs 35 lakh)?

I will do a fixed deposit for my son so that he gets the best education.
