Druv Kent has dropped his first single, Little Bit of God
Seven was lovely. But eight will be lovelier. Yup, 91.9 Friends FM turned eight on February 28 but the celebrations continue till March 7. The Friends FM car is going around town with RJs interacting with people and distributing gifts and prizes. After all, it’s you, the listeners, who have made each moment worthwhile.
Meanwhile, on March 3 is the CMA Excellence in Management Awards from where Friends FM will go live and there will be eight more associations through the week.
Another milestone the station reached in February was when Calcutta boy Druv Kent went live from Singapore. Druv’s first single, Little Bit of God from the album About Time, is already popular on iTunes.
“This is the first single off my debut album, which has been in the works for a long time… hence the name About Time! It took me throwing out my corporate career to do what I was always too scared to do –– music. And maybe, just maybe, music is what I was destined to do. To make songs that resonate… with someone… somewhere,” he said about his song that revolves around taking chances, faith and love. But, more than anything, it’s about you and me. My favourite line is: “There’s a little bit of love in you; there’s a little bit of you in me.”

The Friends FM car is on the move
The former managing director of a bank in Singapore has Tim Bradshaw as pre-producer of the album and also on the production credits are Simon Edwards, Calum MacColl, Greg Haver. Not enough? Helping him out are Mikey Rowe (who has shared stage with Oasis and Sheryl Crow) and Clive Deamer (who has drummed with Radiohead and Portishead).
Druv hasn’t forgotten his roots. On February 6 he had tweeted: “Got to love @jimmy_tangree & 91.9 Friends FM! Airing my single Little Bit of God tonight 10pm IST! 1st time in Kolkata, city of my birth!”
Listeners in Calcutta salute you and wish you all the best.
