Get ready to squat on the floor and wield the chopsticks to enjoy a Japanese meal. Aoi, a 46-seater and the first stand-alone restaurant of its kind that opens in town on November 2, promises to serve up a traditional Japanese food experience.
A venture by K-House Food India, Aoi is the overseas extension of the popular food chain Kyoto Gin Yuba in Japan. “Authentic and traditional Japanese food is what we specialise in,” said Palash Banerjee, MD of K-House Food India. “We had organised two Japanese food festivals at a star hotel in Calcutta in 2012 and realised there was a huge demand for Japanese food. So we decided to open our first outlet here. We will open another one soon on the fourth floor of Forum mall,” said Banerjee.
