Guess who this hottie is? She’s Nalini, the sharp-tongued, bossy elder sister of STAR Jalsa’s Bou Katha Kou hero Nikhil. Having landed in Calcutta with a TV role, Mumbai girl Anindita Bose, 22, has already shot Subhadro Chowdhury’s Clerk, her first feature film where she plays Prosenjit’s lady love. A t2 chat...
FROM MUMBAI TO CALCUTTA...
I was born and brought up in Andheri, Mumbai, but I have seen a lot of Bengali films. My mother Anima Bose has been a dubbing artiste for Zee Bangla for eight years. After my graduation last year, I auditioned for Star and got the chance to play the lead character’s elder sister in STAR Jalsa’s Bou Kotha Kou.
PLAYING PROSENJIT’S GIRL...
I have heard of Prosenjit since I was a child. And bagging my debut film opposite him was delightful! Subhadro’s film is very arty and till the end the audience wouldn’t know that I am the girl who Prosenjit’s character is in love with. Clerk is a 90-minute film and I have a total of 15-16 scenes, which is a lot for a newcomer! Cinematographer Shirsha Ray had recommended me to Subhadro.... Bumbada (Prosenjit) is very easy to work with. I was petrified of him but we slowly got along. He taught me the camera angles and how I could improvise.
NO potboilers, please...
Frankly, I don’t identify with dancing and singing around trees, and so I am not interested in Tollywood’s commercial films. I want to do meaningful roles in slightly off-beat films. I will start an untitled film on a girl band, to be directed by Rick Basu.
doing dare-bare scenes is not her thing...
I am not comfortable showing boobs or butt. I cannot shed my inhibitions and do bold scenes in films because Bengali films cater to all classes of people. But I am comfortable wearing skimpy outfits for photo shoots. I will only do bold scenes if I get to work with my dream directors, like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra, Aamir Khan or Farhan Akhtar, and I am offered my dream roles, like Rani Mukerji’s in Black or Kareena Kapoor’s in Jab We Met!
