ENJOY THE SIZZLE OF THE GRILL AT HHI Malini Banerjee Pictures: Rashbehari Das Published 26.01.13, 12:00 AM

Hotel Hindusthan International has kicked off Grill and Sizzle, a sizzler festival (on till February 3) at the 24-hour coffee shop Mythh. On the menu are grills and barbecues from across the world but with a twist.

The non-vegetarian section is exhaustive with grilled salmon, lobster, Vietnamese basa, chicken, turkey, lamb chops, beef sirloin and much more.

The galangal-flavoured Grilled Lobster is served with a fried garlic and butter emulsion and coconut milk sauce. “Bengalis know that lobsters are perfect with coconut milk,” smiled corporate chef Utpal Mondal.

The Teppanyaki Sirloin blends Japanese flavours with European, for it’s served with hollandaise sauce, buckwheat noodles and fried wild garlic. The Mythh Special Mixed Grill contains chicken, sausages, squid, fish, grilled tomatoes and is served with sauteed onions in a spicy peppery sauce. The Grilled Pork Chops served with creamy mashed potatoes and an onion and green pepper jus is a juicy classic.

Vegetarians need not feel left out, as the Grilled Asparagus with Melted Camembert served with a garlic focaccia is a winner. Grilled Oyster Mushrooms with Crackling Spinach with black bean sauce is another must-try.

Is there such a thing as a grilled dessert? Try the Grilled Peaches with berry sauce and strawberry ice cream. Honeyed peaches with just a hint of charring is good enough to make the ice cream redundant.

A meal for two will cost Rs 1,600 (plus taxes).
