What: Launch of a new tapas menu.
Where: Zara, The Tapas Bar & Restaurant in South City Mall.
On the menu: Here’s some tasty nibble to go with your favourite tipple! Almost 80 per cent of the tapas menu at the restaurant has been revamped, throwing in a variety of meat, seafood and vegetarian tapas to cater to the growing demand from customers.
“A lot of focus has been given to the vegetarian section while creating the new menu to ensure there is enough variety to choose from,” explained Amit Saha, head chef, Zara, Calcutta. So pick from seven veg additions including the Bocconcini Salad, Garbanzo and Spinach Bowl, Grilled Zucchini and Aubergine and Bean Pate.
In the non-veg category, four items — Mini-Ratatouille Egg Bake, Tenderloin and Egg Bake, Tuna and Egg Omelette, Creamed Spinach Egg — have been added to the Egg section “to cater to those who love eggs as well and eggetarians.”
The Spanish spread packs in even more in the meat, chicken and seafood section like Bacon-wrapped Honey Mustard Chicken, Grilled Prawn With Romesco Sauce, Squid With Peppers, Onions and Black Beans, Serrano Ham (traditional Spanish ham) and Chorizo Platter (in picture).
A must-have is the Zara Special Spanish Tango — a subtle yet flavourful dish of sauted fish, prawn, squid, chicken sausage, chorizo, olives, pepper and garlic tossed in white wine.
Pocket pinch: The tapas start at Rs 155 and go up to Rs 455 (plus taxes).
