FROM THE PENSIEVE
• We weren’t allowed to go into the pool at night. During the inter-hall aquatic competitions, we’d cross the wall and jump into the pool at night. We had to run when the guard came after us. On one such night, a guy’s trousers got stuck while we were trying to cross the wall. He kept running even though his pants tore off — Subir Sen, 1977
• Sports was a must for us. Even on days we had exams, we would go to the gymkhana (the hub of all activities) before an exam for three to four hours — Ramakantha Panigrahi, 1977
• On my first day, I had come in a rickshaw and I did not know the way to our hall. So I asked someone on the road and unfortunately it happened to be a senior of mine. He made me stand on the rickshaw and shout, ‘I am a bloody fool. I don’t know the way to my hall’ — Avinash Taneja, 1967
