On drug abuse...

Mishal Raheja: I haven’t ever experimented with drugs. I think they are just a distraction for the weak-minded who don’t have much to do. I think youngsters should take up more activities. If the mind is occupied then there are less chances of getting addicted.

Rohan Tiwari: Personally, I’ve never experimented with drugs but I’ve had people around me doing drugs. I think people fall prey largely because of influences from music and western culture. Movies are a major influence. When they walk into a theatre and watch Al Pacino doing cocaine, the young guys get inspired to become adventurous. The one message to youngsters is: Stay away from drugs.

On ‘permit raj', in which even adults need a permit to drink alcohol...

Mishal: I think laws which require adults to have a permit to drink are just silly.

Rohan: If you are 21 and look younger, then I guess a permit will come in handy. But if you are 50-plus and are being questioned it’s just lame.

On underage driving...

Mishal: I think most boys are guilty of this. It’s more of a fun thing, but it’s definitely not the right thing to do. If the law insists on a particular age limit, then it’s there for a reason; and youngsters should follow these rules.

Rohan: I started driving early but I am totally with the law. You shouldn’t drive till you are 18 and if you do, then don’t get caught!

On drunk driving...

Mishal: I’m happy they are arresting people who are drinking and driving. If you do drink, then don’t take the car out!

Rohan: I just got busted a little over a month ago. I was caught at 11.30pm and the entire process ended at 3.30am. I had had a few drinks but eventually they realised I was within permissible limit. But it’s good to see such laws being enforced. Drunk driving is a total ‘no-no’.

On premarital sex...

Mishal: I think premarital sex is absolutely fine; I mean who are we fooling? Every single person thinks about sex and desires it. It’s simply the design of nature and God made us that way.

Rohan: As long as you love the person, it’s fine to have sex or rather to make love. As a nation I think the biggest problem we face today is that of AIDS. There are many people who don’t even know how to put on a condom. As a country we need to speak about these issues openly rather than keeping them low-key.

On meeting new people online and cyber sex...

Mishal: I registered on Orkut one month after Love Story as many of my fans are on Orkut and I wanted to interact with them. I don’t try to meet people online. Even if I do chat online, I don’t have the time to meet those same people in real life. I log on to MSN and Facebook to connect with my friends who are now living abroad. Cyber sex? Is it like talking dirty online? If you’re using it with your girlfriend in the privacy of your own home then it’s kinky, I guess. But with a stranger I think it’s just disgusting.

Rohan: There was a time when I used to log on, surf the net, chat etc, but now I am just not online much.

On their own love story...

Mishal: I’ve definitely been in relationships before and all I’ll say is that I am in touch with my ex-girlfriends only on the Internet (that’s not really true, just adding some humour!).

Rohan: I was in a serious relationship for four years and finally we parted ways. Basically, if you have been in a relationship before, then you already know the dos and dont’s and this can help you in your marriage. I think falling in love is a beautiful thing.
