@ KASTURI SWEETS & SNACKS, HOWRAH

A plate of assorted Cadbury Mishtis in one hand and cricket ball in another, Nusrat said: “The mishtis look so lovely! I feel like eating them just because of the way they look. Each one looks different. They’ve done a really good job.”

“This is our third year in the Cadbury Mishti campaign; we had won in 2013. It is very interesting to come up with new recipes every year. The people of Howrah like the sweets too,” said Prodip Bose, proprietor, Kasturi Sweets & Snacks.

@ GOBINDER MISTI, BEHALA

“This is like a dream for me! I love both sweets and chocolates. Hence to go to the best sweet shops in the city to sample Cadbury Mishtis is the best thing ever. I’m loving it!” said Nusrat at the Behala shop.

Nusrat hangs her message for Team India on the wish tree at Gobinder Misti. The 10 best wishes every week will win gift vouchers and one lucky winner with the best wish will win a trip to Australia! What did Nusrat write? “India always wins”.

“The response to Cadbury sweets has been great. There’s always a craze for chocolate and the fusion of mishti and chocolate has been very popular. It’s nice to create new sweets every year and this time we have six new sweets for the festival,” said Subrata Panja, co-proprietor, Gobinder Misti.

@ NEW GHOSH BROTHERS, KANKURGACHHI

Nusrat was spoilt for choice at New Ghosh Brothers, Kankurgachhi. “I tasted almost all the sweets. They are very nice and mildly-sweetened. A sweet lover can have five to six at a time,” said the Tolly girl.

“Our family has been making sweets for over 80-85 years now. We have been a part of the Cadbury Mishti campaign since last year and response has been really good. It has encouraged us to try out different varieties of the chocolate sweet. It’s fun to experiment and come up with some unusual mishti varieties. Last year we had made the Cadbury Sonpapdi, which became quite popular,” said Tushar Kanti Ghosh, owner, New Ghosh Brothers.

For Nusrat, Cadbury is the answer to depression. “Whenever I am depressed I have chocolates. In our profession people tend to get depressed. I find reasons to get depressed so that I can have chocolates! Jokes apart, I love chocolates. Since childhood chocolate to us meant Cadbury,” said Nusrat, for whom Sidharth Malhotra is the ultimate chocolate hero. “He looks really chocolate-y!”

@ GUPTA BROTHERS, SALT LAKE

“They must have the best artisans to come up with such creative Cadbury Mishti. I loved this Chocolate White Cream. It’s baked and so it must be healthy too,” said Nusrat.

“We have been associated with the Cadbury Mishti campaign for the past five years. The association has been great and we also enjoy participating and coming out with new sweets every year. Over the years our work had become quite monotonous but because of Cadbury Mishti we feel that we have some new job in hand, where we can do some R&D (research and development). We have six varieties but Holi ki Goli is getting a great response from the customers,” said Parikshit Gupta, owner, Gupta Brothers, Salt Lake.
