When t2 stepped into a five-star hotel recently, we noticed that all the beef items were whitened out on the menu. That got us into panic mode. What if...? But worry not beef-eaters, your favourite places are still serving it up. Here’s a t2 guide to some of the best beef bites in town. Add to this list at t2@abp.in

The Texan @ Burger You
If burgers are your thing, Burger You, a dial-a-burger service is perfect for you! They deliver mean burgers like Slim Jim and Bacon Bob right to your doorstep. The Texan is a one-of-a-kind burger that includes a quarter pound patty with crispy-fried onion rings, grilled onions and drizzled with BBQ sauce. So, with every bite, you get a meaty, crunchy and #droolworthy experience. Order in, if you haven’t already.

Carpaccio Di Filetto Con Salsa Di Tartufi Neri @ Serafina
If the name’s a mouthful, wait till you taste the dish! Beef and truffles, ’nuff said. The best part of the tenderloin is wrapped up, frozen overnight, sliced super-thin and served raw with boiled potatoes in a mild butter sauce flavoured with heavenly truffles imported from Italy. The dish at the Quest mall restaurant is eaten cold to prevent spoiling of the beef.

Sirloin Steak @ Wise Owl Steakhouse
This steakhouse in town, on the roof of Wise Owl coffee shop on Purna Das Road, serves up mean steaks for all meat-lovers. While most restaurants have only the option of tenderloin, Wise Owl Steakhouse has the option of three more! Served with deliciously creamy mashed potatoes and a choice of any of the sauces on the menu (t2 likes the red wine sauce), you can specify how you want your steak done. They get all kinds of requests from well done to bloody to rare steaks that are cooked only a minute a side!

Stir-fry Tenderloin in Black Pepper Sauce @ Yauatcha
On a recent visit to Yauatcha, t2 learnt that beef sales beat chicken this year at the Michelin-starred brand at Quest. The bestseller? This wok-seared smoky meat item with onions, scallions, bell peppers and whole garlic cloves, tossed in a spicy, sweet and tangy sauce. A delicate rice vermicelli nest sits pretty on the colourful dish.
Pocket pinch: Rs 650

Black Label Burger @ The Irish House
This popular hangout at Quest not only churns out great cocktails and drinks but also food. Case in point? This massive burger. A 135g beef patty is glazed with Black Label Scotch while on the grill, finally topped with caramelised onions and melted Cheddar slice and ranch mayo. Made with Angus beef imported from Scotland (depending on availability), the splash of Scotch adds a special smoky flavour. Who said you could only get high on drinks? Served with fries and coleslaw.
Pocket pinch: Rs 450
Also try: Philly Cheese Steak

Beef Steak @ Oly Pub
Beef and beer — this is what classic combinations are made of. Oly Pub, the legendary drinking den on Park Street, has been doling out Chateau Briand, popularly called Beef Steak, for about seven decades now. The undercut of beef is marinated with mustard powder, black pepper, Worcester sauce, sugar and rum and then cooked. It is served with caramelised onion, mashed potatoes, peas and a fried egg with an oozy yolk. Now all this sounds rather too fancy for Oly Pub, innit? The bottom line: it’s the most popular dish on the menu. But don’t we know that already? #NomNom
Pocket pinch: Rs 205
