FOLK FUSION: Calcutta-based electro folk rock duo Sukanti and Anushree are kicked about their Bacardi NH7 Weekender (with t2) debut on Saturday. They’ll be performing songs from their new album Centurion Relay, which has eight folk songs “from Bengal, Punjab, Rajasthan, Assam and Nepal” each with their own new-age arrangements. “This is our tribute to the rich heritage of folk music from the Indian subcontinent. Many of the songs are centuries old written by minstrels, philosophers and thinkers who fearlessly defied political boundaries and embraced love and spirituality in their purest form,” said vocalist Anushree Gupta. The video to the number Jugni Ji  dropped on October 23. “It features almost 20 colourful characters very different from each other. It’s free-spirited, jovial… it’s the craziness of folk fused with urban style,” added Anushree.
