Akshay Kumar on Monday congratulated Shah Rukh Khan on social media for the success of Jawan, which released on September 7.
Quoting a tweet showcasing the film's impressive box office numbers, Akshay wrote on X, “What massive success!! Congratulations my jawan Pathaan @iamsrk 👏 Our films are back and how.”
In response to Akshay's heartfelt message, Shah Rukh expressed his gratitude, saying, “Aap ne Dua maangi na hum sab ke liye toh kaise khaali jayegi. All the best and stay healthy Khiladi! Love u.”
Akshay’s latest release OMG 2 — which hit the theatres on August 11 and faced competition from Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 — performed steadily at the box office. The Amit Rai-helmed satirical comedy, featuring Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles, has minted Rs 514.60 crore nett at the domestic box office.
Akshay also announced the third instalment of his hit comedy franchise Welcome on the occasion of his 56th birthday on Saturday. The film — Welcome to the Jungle — boasts of an ensemble cast including Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma and Vrihi Kodvara.
Meanwhile, Jawan is an actioner directed by Atlee, which also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles. Shah Rukh’s Pathaan co-star Deepika Padukone makes a special appearance in the film.
