Hours after the indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC late-night show, US President Donald Trump shifted his focus on comedian-television hosts Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon, calling upon NBC to fire them Thursday.

“Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

Both Fallon and Meyers are popular late-night show hosts on NBC.

"Why does the president of the United States write with the uneven grammar and syntax of a scammer sending you a fake job listing?" Meyers said in one of his recent shows, comparing the US President’s approach to peer pressure among teenagers.

He also took a dig at his foreign policy stance, including that on Russia.

Fallon poked fun at Trump's visit to the UK in a recent episode of a show. The President, he said, loves Britain because "when he holds a little tea sandwich, his hands look normal-sized".

Teasing Trump's connection to King Charles, Fallon said, "Over the years, Trump and Charles have actually bonded because they both know what it's like to inherit everything they have. Besides that, they also know what it's like to spend all day on the throne."

ABC suspended Kimmel's late-night show indefinitely in the wake of comments he made about Charlie Kirk's killing, as per reports.

Kimmel, the veteran late-night comic, made several comments about the reaction to Kirk's assassination on his show Monday and Tuesday nights. He said that “many in MAGA land are working very hard to capitalise on the murder of Charlie Kirk”.

Kimmel, like CBS late-night host Stephen Colbert, has consistently been critical of Trump and many of his policies on his ABC show.

CBS said this past summer that it was cancelling Colbert's show at the end of this season for financial reasons, although some critics have wondered if his stance on Trump played a role.
