The Telegraph Online Published 19.02.15, 12:00 AM

In between sweet bites and posing for a selfie with fans, Abir Chatterjee  shared his chocolate memories with t2.

Earliest chocolate memory?
Gems. I was five or six years old then. Chocolate was not easily available, as it is now. So one packet of Gems meant a lot of sharing. We grew up learning the joy of sharing. That doesn’t mean that we always gave away the lion’s share to others. Dushtumi kortam…

Are you a chocoholic?
I love chocolate. I love dark chocolate and Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut. However, in school, I had a very wrong conception that only girls like Cadbury. So despite liking it very much, I never was a Cadbury enthusiast during my schooldays.

Have you ever polished off a chocolate bar you had bought as a gift?
Many times. In some cases, I had chosen chocolate as a gift expecting that the person I gift it to would share it with me!

Do your fans see you as a chocolate hero?
Not in general. May be for some particular role or moment in a film, they remark that I looked like a chocolate hero. But otherwise, I haven’t been described as such.

Who is the best chocolate hero in Bollywood and Hollywood?
In Bollywood, Aamir Khan in his younger days. In Hollywood, I think Leonardo DiCaprio in his younger days.

If there was a chocolate heroine, who would it be?
Alia Bhatt, to some extent.

KC GOPE & SONS, HATIBAGAN

Abir chose Clean Bowled, one of the six Cadbury Mishtis offered by KC Gope & Sons, at their Hatibagan outlet. “I used to come here to have kulfi during my college days,” said Abir.

give it back”

“This is the first time we are taking part in Cadbury Mishti Shera Srishti. We are really excited and our customers are also giving positive reviews to our creations,” said Sourav Gope, proprietor, KC Gope & Sons.

TRIPTI MAHAL, BARANAGAR

The Cadbury Gujiya caught Feluda’s fancy. “I loved this mishti and really appreciate the innovative ideas the sweetmakers come up with every year,” said Abir before writing on the wish tag for the men in blue: “Keep the trophy with you guys only!”

Baranagar resident Sayani Neogi was ecstatic when she found her favourite actor at the sweet shop. “I have sent so many messages to him on Twitter but never got a reply. I never thought I would be so lucky to click a selfie with him!” said the “huge fan” of Abir.

“We are very lucky to have Abir as a guest in our shop. I like his style of acting. Thanks to Cadbury and ABP, we have been successfully taking part in the Cadbury Mishti campaign for the past three years,” said Paritosh Ghorui, partner, Tripti Mahal.

HINDUSTHAN SWEETS, JADAVPUR

Debleena Dutt was very excited to sample Cadbury Mishti and wish Team India. “Cricket is the only sport I watch and try to follow. Ever since childhood I have hero-worshipped Tendulkar. In the current team, there’s Dhoni,” said the Tolly actress, striking a pose with gloves, helmet and bat, at Hindusthan Sweets.

“We are excited to come up with new kinds of sweets every year thanks to Cadbury Mishti. It is challenging and fun. These sweets are very popular with all and fly off the racks,” said Animesh Mukherjee, manager, Hindusthan Sweets.

MAHAPRABHU MISTANNA BHANDER, DOVER LANE

Debleena poses with the Wish Tree winners of the first week at Mahaprabhu Mistanna Bhander. You can also win by leaving a message for the Indian cricket team on a Wish Tree kept at all participating sweet shops. Ten best wishes every week will win gift vouchers and at the end of the campaign, one lucky winner will win a trip to Australia!

“To choose one single sweet from here is so difficult, I feel like having them all!” exclaimed Debleena.

“It is a positive experience for us because we get to experiment and innovate, creating a fusion of Bengali mishti and chocolate. It’s like the best of both worlds,” said Abhishek and Abhisayan Ghara, proprieters, Mahaprabhu Mistanna Bhander.
