A.R. Rahman, Shah Rukh Khan, Vijay Deverakonda praise RRR team for its Golden Globe win

Composed by M.M. Keeravani, the Naatu Naatu song from S.S. Rajamouli’s period drama won the Golden Globe Award 2023 for Best Song in a Motion Picture

Following the historic win for RRR’s Telugu song Naatu Naatu at the Golden Globes, film personalities from across India have poured in love and congratulatory messages for director S.S. Rajamouli and his team.

Composed by M.M. Keeravani and sung by Kaala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj, the foot-tapping number has taken the world by storm. At the Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday night, the song trumped tracks sung by the likes of Rihana, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga.

Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman hailed the win as a “paradigm shift” as he congratulated M.M. Keeravani, the man behind the Natu Natu tune, and the entire team of RRR.

Telugu star Chiranjeevi extended his wishes to Rajamouli and his team on their “phenomenal, historic achievement”.

In his trademark quirky style, Shah Rukh Khan tweeted that he just woke up and started dancing to Naatu Naatu.

Rashmika Mandanna was all praises for the RRR team. “So proud and happy for you” the Pushpa: The Rise actress tweeted.

M.M. Keeravani, who had composed music for Ram Gopal Varma’s 1991 thriller Kshana Kshanam, was also congratulated by Varma for his feat. “Way to go… Keep soaring,” the director tweeted.

Huma Qureshi was thrilled at the global recognition for an Indian song. “And so it begins,” the Monica, O My Darling actress wrote on Twitter.

National Award-winning screenwriter and director Rahul Ravindran said this is the best piece of news to wake up to. “My wife will be a happy girl today! She watches this song while having breakfast, lunch and dinner at least 3 days a week still,” he added.

Ponniyin Selvan actor Jayam Ravi hailed RRR’s victory as a proud moment for Indian cinema.

Liger star Vijay Deverakonda gave a shout out to Prem Rakshit for choreographing the foot-tapping number.

National Award-winning director Srijit Mukherji, known for his word play, congratulated M.M. Keeravani in style. “Kreem de la créme!” he wrote.
