Suparna Trikha Dewan Has Natural Solutions To All Your Beauty Problems Published 23.09.12, 12:00 AM

I am a 28-year-old man. I have a high-stress job and quite often work even on weekends. I’ve been losing hair lately — I think it’s related to the stress, but I really can’t do much to avoid it. Could you suggest some natural remedies for hairfall problems? I am single, so I need some simple remedies that I can manage to put together on my own.

Get a blood test done immediately to check for your haemoglobin levels. It is possible that you may require a healthy diet and some vitamins too. Massage your hair with a good quality Brahmi Amla hair oil that helps promote hair growth. If you have so much stress at 28 what are you going to do at 38? Learn to take things in your stride and stop worrying about things you do not have control over. Try this hair mask — take 10 hibiscus flowers, 10 powdered bay leaves, a handful of neem leaves and 5 peppercorns. Grind together in a mixer and apply onto the scalp and keep for an hour. Shampoo with a mild herbal shampoo. Do this once a week.

I am a 35-year-old woman. Is there anything I can do to thicken and darken my eyebrows?

Suri

The use of 2 to 3 drops of castor oil, massaged daily into the eyebrows can help thicken them.

I am a 30-year-old woman. What should I do to get rid of whiteheads on my nose? I have combination skin.

Shilpa

Whiteheads are a result of oil build-up and improper cleaning. This can be rectified with a regular cleansing with a mixture of finely ground orange peel mixed with Fuller’s earth and semolina. Mix with rose water and scrub daily on whitehead-prone area.

Being a fitness coach, my beauty regime starts with proper sleep at night, a balanced diet, lots of water throughout the day and, of course, training. I also use a multani mitti (Fuller’s earth) face pack three times a week. During winters, I prefer a mask made of yogurt, buttermilk and sour milk. It softens, rejuvenates and corrects the pH balance of the skin. On a busier day I use honey as a natural moisturiser. For my hair I use olive oil and give the last rinse with beer after shampoo to get that extra shine.
