Mug that cheers |
Lager than life
First there were gay marches, then gay films ? and now there is gay beer. It?s called queer beer, but no offence is meant. Launched by Swiss entrepreneur Michael Hutmacher, it?s a quirky attempt to identify with gay habits and tendencies ? and, of course, corner the lion?s share of the exclusive homosexual market. According to Hutmacher, it began as a crazy idea when one of the friends proposed to bring out a drink that the gay community could identify with. But once the plan picked up, the three businessmen launched the company Lemonhead to market it. Their wish is to make gays feel relaxed about their sexuality and not force them to hide it. But thankfully, it?s a drink even straight chaps can drink. Three cheers to that!
Help is at hand
Do you break out in cold sweat whenever you think of the Class X or XII final board exams? If so, take heart. The Central Board of Secondary Education, an Indian authority on school education, has come out with a counselling service to help students in times of despair in the months preceding the final exams ? dealing with everything from time management to interpersonal skills. Predictably, the calls have been flooding in. Thirty seven counsellors ? most of them teachers, psychologists and academicians ? have been posted all over the country to teach studying techniques. Anxious parents, more than students, have been calling up with their problems. It?s one hell of a hotline, then!

Talk at your own peril
Eveteasers take note. A new law in Costa Rica has promised to put men into jail for upto 50 days even if they try to chat up women. According to reports, the police are fully aware how this law might be misused ? especially by unscrupulous women. But for now they have decided to place their faith in women?s judgement. Let?s just hope Costa Rican men have equal faith in it!
