Vohra to head ING arm

Mumbai, June 13: ING Investment Management (ING IM) today announced that Vineet Vohra has joined the company as its managing director and chief executive officer. Vohra will take over from Kavita Hurry.

Vohra will be responsible for managing and growing ING IM’s investment management business in India, according to a company press statement.

He has more than 19 years of experience in offshore and retail banking, wealth management and investments across the Asia Pacific region. He has worked with Citibank both in Singapore and India.

As regional director and business head of Citibank’s Asia Pacific consumer investments business, Vohra played a major role in building the bank’s wealth management franchise in the region.

Vineet, an engineer, is also an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.

Kavita Hurry had taken over as the chief executive officer in June 2002. She was with ING Bank earlier.
