LG TARGETS RS 750 CR TURNOVER THIS YEAR

Calcutta, March 9 :     LG Electronics India Ltd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of LG Electronics Inc, hopes to achieve a Rs 750 crore turnover this year and acquire a substantial marketshare in the colour television and home appliances business, through product launches, a new advertising campaign, and better service network. The company is aiming at a 9.5 per cent marketshare in CTVs, 25 per cent in microwave ovens, 18 per cent in semi-automatic washing machines, 37 per cent in refrigerators and a 20 per cent marketshare in air-conditioners. ?We will launch our new advertisement with an ?All the best? song, to welcome the World Cup Cricket teams, and try to identify LG with the best cricketers. LG is one of the official sponsors of this year?s World Cup cricket tournament,? Rajeev Karwal, vice-president (marketing and sales) of LG Electronics said. For West Bengal, the company has set a sales target of Rs 50 crore this year. LG, which has a company service centre in Calcutta and three service franchisees in the state, is planning to set up another service franchisee in north Bengal.
