Calcutta, Dec. 5: Jaya Shree Textiles, a unit of Aditya Birla Nuvo, expects its turnover to touch Rs 1,500 crore in the next five years.

The annual turnover now stands at Rs 1,000 crore from linen fabric and wool yarn. The company also hopes to double its mill capacity at Rishra, Hoogly in the next two- to three years from the existing 9 million metres per annum. Jaya Shree Textiles owns the Linen Club textile brand.

“We now earn about Rs 500 crore from linen and another Rs 500 crore from wool. In the next five years, the mix can be 60:40 between the two. The eastern region contributes to only 10-14 per cent of the revenues,” said S. Krishnamoorthy, president (textiles division), Aditya Birla Group.

The company has increased its product prices 5 per cent from this month because of rupee fluctuations and lower crop output in Europe.

The company sources linen fibre from countries such as Belgium and France.
