New Delhi, Oct. 17: Hero Honda today launched its 150cc bike Hunk at a starting price of Rs 55,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike comes in two variants — kick-start and self-start. The self-start model comes at Rs 57,000.
The company has a nearly 20 per cent share in the premium bike segment. It sells three other models in the performance-driven segment — the 156cc CBZ Xtreme, the 150cc Achiever and the 225cc Karizma.
The Hunk will take on the Bajaj Avenger, which has a 200cc DTsi engine.
“The contribution of the premium bike segment to overall motorcycle sales in the country has risen to 14 per cent from 10 per cent in 2000,” said Anil Dua, vice-president — sales and marketing, Hero Honda.
