Mumbai, Oct. 10: The country's foreign exchange reserves jumped $827.4 million to $350.81 billion in the week to October 2, with a rise in foreign currency assets (FCAs), the RBI data said. FCAs grew $717.6 million to $327.3 billion during the week. Gold reserves rose $116.5 million to $18.15 billion in the week under review. India's special drawing rights with the IMF fell $1.7 million to $4.047 billion during the week, while the nation's reserve position with the Fund fell $5 million to $1.311 billion.
NHB approval
New Delhi, Oct. 10: The National Housing Bank (NHB) has granted permission to six new entities to become housing finance companies. The entities are Supreme Housing Finance, Nivara Home Finance, Khush Housing Finance Private, Bajaj Housing Finance Capri, Global Housing Finance and Hinduja Housing Finance. "Thus, as on date, total number of housing finance companies registered with NHB is 72," it said in a release.
