Patna, Nov. 14: A bounty of fun and frolic awaited the students of Notre Dame Academy this Children’s Day. For, Mumma’s Club, formed by mothers of Notre Dame students, returned to the premises with their tuck shop.
The Tuck Shop, an annual event, was organised with 13 food and two games stalls for students of classes I to XII. The students had a wide range of goodies to gorge on. Stalls of chaat, pav bhaji, chowmein, hotdogs, cakes, momos and pizzas coupled with games — Wheel of Fortune and Shade the Board — made worthy the Children’s Day celebrations.
While most of the mummies prepared the delicacies with their own hands, homemakers Anita and Shashi Saluja gave a twist to their feast on offer. Another hit with the children was a chowmein stall arranged by Alka Singh and Anju Agrawal. Bollywood Treat at hotel Maurya also joined the Children’s Day bandwagon with cartoon-themed menu for kids. More than 150 children took part in the celebrations today and were happy with nine food combos named after favourite cartoon characters — Tintin, Tom and Jerry, Donald Duck, Chhota Bheem and more — and classroom-inspired seating arrangements.
Kilkari Bhavan
Chief minister Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the new building of Kilkari Bhavan built at the cost of Rs 6 crore in Saidpur locality on Children’s Day. Nitish said his aim was to educate the children and make them good citizens.
