The 21st Annual Udyog Mela was the place to be to witness women entrepreneurship at its best.
Organised by Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh twice a year, the five-day fair was inaugurated by road construction minister Bhim Singh on Thursday.
Around 135 stalls have been put up apart from 12 food stalls. Entrepreneurs from Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Baroda, Pune, Uttar Pradesh and among other places displayed their handmade products at this fair. Stalls selling eatables, dress materials and home décor items had the highest takers on the first day of fair.
Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh president Pushpa Chopra said: 'I am happy to see when the work of these women entrepreneurs earns recognition and they get a good platform to sell their items. This is the main objective behind organising this fair besides promoting women's employment.'
Addressing the entrepreneurs, minister Singh said: 'The government will give full assistance to entrepreneurs to display their products and items at national and the international forums. All hand-made products are appreciable.'
